In Defense of Traditional Books

In the midst of the digital age, I want to strengthen and defend the traditional book. Do not get me wrong, I love the latest technology in the book, but there is nothing like a book in its purest form. Here are some reasons.

1. Feel

There is something about holding a book in his hands and feel the pages you turn. There is a connection with a material that does not seem to occur when reading on a mobile device. Like the ancient books, also a kind of perfume pick up a book and that is quite comforting. The whole process of reading becomes an immersive experience.

2. They are better for your health

We have all heard many times before. The eerie glow of our electronics is killing us slowly. Of course, it's probably a little extreme. In other words, almost everything is "killing us" these days, but it really affects your health. Especially if you sleep with all other reading lights off. Your body reacts to light your electronic reading device and can significantly affect your ability to sleep and sleep all night. In fact, the best recommendation for bedtime is reading a traditional book till you drop. If you had trouble sleeping lately, just take a week to read a book of physical reality rather than looking at an electronic device thirty minutes before sleep. I guarantee you'll begin to sleep more soundly.

3. The sense of accomplishment

Each book that the finish is something like a trophy that you can keep forever. We can proudly show customers like a conversation started. You can do it with three or four pounds or you can have an entire room dedicated to her. personal libraries are quite impressive and there is an air of intelligence and sophistication that comes with such a piece. Build trust, share their favorites with their guests. Good luck doing that with an electronic reader. Or, if that does not bother you to build your collection, you get to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it.

4. The ability to completely disconnect

This might just be me, but I guess not. If I try to read on a mobile device, it takes me forever to get to the area. I'm distracted by every little thing, whether email or Facebook, or any other application that is just a single click. A physical book allows me to put aside all that and really immerse yourself in the world that the author has prepared for me. Number 2 on the list also plays a role here.

5. Nostalgia

Many books that I have a story behind how I have them, if given to me by a friend or relative, or a special edition, or becomes a signed copy. Nostalgia is lost with eBooks and stay with nostalgia every day.

There you go. Just a few reasons that always, always prefer traditional books to electronic books. I hope you enjoyed my thoughts and celebrate them.
